Rostellascaris, the genus established by Malhotra and Anas (2001) has been validated and a new species incorporated therein by the use of mit cox I gene analysis. Another nematode, Phylogenostoma gen. n. has been accommodated on the basis of cox I gene analysis, since the alignment of the sequences of these two parasites with other nematode sequences available in the central database at NCBI reveals no more than 86% homology with any of the sequences available.
