Free Movie Streaming Sites
If you are a fan of watching free movies online then without a doubt you’ll know that free movie streaming sites have a habit of going offline unanounced. Usually this is just for routine maintenance, but sometimes it’s due to a server overload, or even intervention from the copyright police.
It’s not surprising that these websites servers get overloaded, when all it takes is for one video link to go viral and you’ve got a massively popular website over night getting thousands of people all trying to watch the latest episode of true blood at the same time.
If you used ch131 last year you’ll know what I am talking about. Ch131 had a nack for going offline at least twice a month without any mention as to why. I kept on thinking that maybe it had something to do with authorities finally catch up to the webmaster behind the curtains but no, they live on.
It is actually surprising that websites such as ch131 and movie2k are still around despite their popularity. When we look at many of the free movie and TV show sites in the past that have had domains ceased by the ICE, and especially after the latest drama with MegaVideo.
Anyway, inspite of all of the copyright police’s valiant efforts, the online free movie community seems to be thriving more now than ever, with enigmatic websites like letmewatchthis popping up under new domain names every couple of days. Which begs the question? Is the war on online piracy even worth it? Or should the networks just invest more into online publishing opportunities.
We have seen this with the North American website Hulu.com, which is owned by several of the big television networks. What Hulu does is stream free TV shows online (viewable to people with an IP address within the United States) and is supported by paid advertising.
Over the last few years, Hulu has been reporting great profits. So this really does seem like a viable publishing opportunity for TV networks and movie studios.
